Work Experience
After my graduation, I completed a ten-week ‘Drawing with Words’ course at The Prince’s Drawing School, which focused on the use of language in a story-based setting. My experience in the industry, has been working at Cartoon Saloon for an intensive internship, working as a location and character designer on their upcoming feature film (at the time)’My Father’s Dragon.’ Along with the opportunity of working in one of the industry’s major studios, I met some of the key players, which was an invaluable experience. I had the opportunity to work as a full-time animator and storyboard artist on a sequence for a short documentary on psychosis, that tells the story of a young man and his experiences with having a psychotic breakdown, and the affect it had on his life. The film will hopefully be shown in a private cinema and a few festivals at some point later in the year, one of which is Raindance Film Festival. I had applied for a position at UKTV/Gold, where I was working as a colourist for a two-part BBC documentary on the life of British comedian Tony Hancock. Since then, I have been working as a Freelance Painter and Illustrator for Paul Costelloe Design, producing watercolour illustrations for homeware collections, whilst currently collaborating with a film director again as a full-time animator and artist on an upcoming short psychological sci-fi drama film, which will be a combination of live-action and 2D Animation.
